MA Institute Secondary School was established in 2003 by a group of young individuals from different academic, social and professional backgrounds. The school is located in the inner city area of Bradford.

MA Institute is a small small, family-orientated school with a very strong sense of community. We provide education for children from eleven to eighteen years, and are providing education for both boys and girls but at two different sites. we have a lively extracurricular and weekend programme in which all children may take part.

High standards of teaching will help your child to reach his or her full potential, but we set out to provide a much broader foundation for the future. We believe in the importance of social skills, service to others and self confidence without conceit. Your child will have opportunities in a wide range of cultural, creative and physical activities within a community which values and respects individuals, celebrates achievement and broadens perspective.

The overriding objective of the Institute is to offer an education for life and this means, "the development of the whole person, mind, body and spirit." Central to MA is the belief that the education provided is not only about the gaining of knowledge and the acquisition of essential skills, important though they are, but that it is also about the personal development of each individual, in its fullest sense. At MA the education offered is one of five closely interwoven components.

  • Having a modern secular approach to education with traditional Islamic doctrines complementing that approach.
  • Personal relationships: this concerns adults and young people alike aiming to set, and being entitled to expect from others, good, caring standards of behaviour, marked by respect, responsibility, openness and honesty.
  •          Discipline, is concerned with critical openness through which all members of the community are encouraged to develop self-discipline. Discipline is not unthinking obedience but rather about the development of positive attitudes to oneself and others resulting in self-induced responsible behaviour.
  • Developing all pupils to their fullest potential. This means encouraging and challenging the very able to develop to their fullest degree, and supporting and enabling pupils of low and average achievements to set themselves targets, through which they gain confidence, self-esteem and may even surprise themselves.
  •  Integrity and commitment where adults and young people are encouraged to value and be true to the highest ideals. It is the task of the school to ensure that an adequate foundation of experience and knowledge, with opportunities for discussion, reflection and evaluation is provided so that pupils can be given maximum scope to develop their spiritual, moral, social and cultural dimensions.
